Vallivue selected the team to beat

According to our poll taken on September 13, you selected Vallivue High School as the team to beat in the 5A Boys Southern Idaho Conference (see the results below).

Vallivue head coach Scott Moore returns for his second year after going 9-11 in year one. The Falcons lose a couple of key guards but bring back young players that saw a lot of varsity time from last year.

Second in voting is Eagle. The Mustangs lose their all state forward Daved Gillmor but look to fill the gap with junior Braden Shaw. Eagle made it to the state tournament consolation game last season.

Tied for third is Borah and Centennial. Borah returns several impact players including Ben Tucakovic, Isaiah Wright and Braden Corpus. They lost in the third place game at state. Centennial, though they lose point guard Patrick Manning and forward Faruk Huscik, return some key players including Aaron Maffey. The Patriots lost to Mountain View in the state title game last season.
