The 2012 summer travel schedule was another solid one for the Idaho Select program. Five teams ranging from 15U to 17U competed in three NCAA certified tournaments in July. Here is the 2012 summer recap for the teams and some players.
The 17U Black team finished in the top 32 in two tournaments including the Best of the Summer in Anaheim, CA and the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas. Their notable wins included victories over Double Pump Elite and the Dallas Mustangs. The 17U White team defended their title in Seattle, winning the 17U Silver Bracket Championship for the second consecutive summer.
The 16U Red finished the summer strong in Las Vegas, advancing to the Final Four of the 16U Silver Bracket and grabbing wins over the Houston Celtics and the Minnesota Warriors. The 15U Blue team also made a great run in Anaheim, where they advanced to the Final Four of the 15U division. The 15U Gold team finished strong finishing third in their pool in Las Vegas and advancing to the Gold Bracket.
On the recruiting track, a lot of players made big time impressions on the colleges that saw them play. McKay Cannon (Shelley, 2012) has picked up offers from Santa Barbara, Montana, Idaho, Weber, Idaho State, Portland and Southern Utah.
Other schools have also been calling and expressing interest in players from both 17U teams.
